It's the end of August just over a year later and a smaller piece of scaffolding has been erected outside my flat. My body and brain know the score.
I'm awoken at 4.30am to the wind and rain lashing at my window but this doesn't discourage me.
The early morning kept my secrets last time; hopefully this is the case second time around.
So again I creep outside at 6am when the neighbourhood is still asleep. There's protective foam this time around so instead of the cold bite of the steel pipes against my skin there's a delicate crunch when I move around.
It's moments like these I live for, in the total silence of the world I am a small insignificant thing doing something I love.
